Ada, MN -- The Norman County Sheriff’s Office is taking extra precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect their officers, but because of those precautions, you actually may notice a more visible presence from deputies around the county. Each patrol vehicle is fully equipped with laptops and all the technology they need for their day-to-day duties, so Norman County Sheriff Deputy Ben Fall says officers are social distancing themselves by utilizing their vehicles as mobile offices.
Deputy Fall wouldn’t say one way or the other as to if the deputies are conducting more traffic stops during this time, but he did note that if they do initiate a traffic stop or apprehend a suspect, they are being extra careful.
Along with more deputies on the roads, Deputy Fall notes that there has actually been an influx of people taking to the highway as an escape from their homes.
The doors to the Norman County Law Enforcement Center are now locked, however they are still able to provide permits to purchase and burning permits as needed.
