Minnesota -- The Minnesota FSA offices offer two important loan programs to ensure local farmers that their products will be protected. Julie Kolodji shared the two programs on Thursday morning during the weekly FSA Report. The first program is the Farm Storage Facility Loan Program. From maple syrup and honey to larger farm products, this program will invest in and upgrade farm storage facilities. Kolodji says these are low-interest rate and can be used by any farmer.
The second loan program Kolodji talked about is the Direct Loan Program. There have been recent changes to the program that she says farmers need to be aware of.
USDA Service Centers are open for business. However, public access is limited due to the pandemic. The FSA is willing to work with farmers by phone as well as online.
