Bagley, MN -- On Saturday the 19th Pine Ridge Residence of Bagley will be having a drive-thru fundraiser supper from 4 until 7 P.M. to help raise money towards a new van that would allow their residents to have transportation for off site events. Pine Ridge Residence is a facility for developmentally disabled adults to call home. At Pine Ridge residents receive specialized training with attention give to their individual needs to help them succeed their family environment and in the surrounding communities. Pine Ridge Residence has been chose to receive the matching fund grant from Modern Woodmen of America. Executive Director of Pine Ridge Residence, Jessica Horn explains the significance of this grant and how Modern Woodmen of America serve the area.
Pine Ridge has an aggressive goal to raise funds to purchase or make a great down payment on a van that is valued at $20 - $25,000. The new van would help the residents of Pine Ridge to travel around the community to different events and appointments. Pine Ridge currently only has one van but since they are now licensed as two smaller homes instead of the 15 family member unit they would greatly benefit from a second transportation vehicle.
On the menu for the drive-thru supper fundraiser will be pulled pork on a bun, coleslaw, potato chips, cookies and water. Jessica Horn gives details on where you can find the fundraiser if you wish to attend. If you are unable to be there Board Member Gladys Luecken says there are other ways you can help towards their cause.
