Norman-Mahnomen Public Health: Improving Your Heart Health
By Mark Askelson firstname.lastname@example.org (2/12/18)
Ada, MN -- February is Heart Health Month and it’s a great opportunity to take a look at our lifestyles and eating habits and find ways we can improve our heart health and prevent heart disease. Tracy Johnson with Norman Mahnomen Public Health joined us on the Kaleidoscope Program recently to discuss some of the most basic things we can do to improve our health situation. Johnson says there’s many factors we can’t change, such as family history or age, but you should focus on those few areas you can.
Getting more exercise is an excellent way to improve heart health, but going to the gym every day is challenging and often unrealistic for the average person. Johnson says there are a few simple things you can do each day that will add up in the long run.
Heart Disease affects everyone, however Johnson adds that women are often at greater risk than men.
Norman-Mahnomen Public Health joins the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program on the 4th Monday of each month.
