Twin Valley, MN -- The Twin Valley City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday. At the meeting, they received a brief presentation from a representative from Minnesota Rural Water. Twin Valley Mayor Ben Fall says they are working with Minnesota Rural Water to develop a Wellhead Protection Plan, which is required by the state. The purpose of the Wellhead Protection Program is to prevent contamination of public drinking water supplies by identifying water supply recharge areas and implementing management practices for potential pollution sources found within those areas. The good news for the city of Twin Valley, according to the Mayor, is that they are at a very low risk of contamination.
The time has come for the Twin Valley Police Department to get a new patrol vehicle. During the meeting, the council gave the thumbs up to Police Chief Jason Douville to purchase a new Ford Interceptor, according to Mayor Fall.
Also under the Police Report, the council approved a new mutual aid agreement, which provides a much needed update to the previous agreement that was written decades ago.
The Twin Valley City Council meets on the 2nd Monday of each month.
