Celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day

Twin Valley, MN -- The annual Syttende Mai Supper will be held at Twin Valley Living Center tonight from 5-7pm. Enjoy meatballs, gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, lefse, buns, rommegrot and sweet soup. Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for ages 12 and under, free for preschoolers.
Syttende Mai translates to Seventeenth of May in Norwegian and is otherwise known as Norwegian Constitution Day. Its celebrated very similar to way us Americans celebrate Independence day. It’s also often still widely celebrated in the United States as well, especially in the Midwest with it’s large Norwegian heritage, according to Solveig Kitchell, a proud Norwegian and Director of the Norman County Historical Society.
Proceeds for tonight’s Syttende Mai Supper will be used to enhance the quality of life for the residents at Twin Valley Living Center.
