Ada, MN -- The Ada City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, a day ahead of their usual meeting date since it would have fallen on National Night Out this month. At the meeting, the council went over and discussed some cost estimates to renovate their municipal off sale liquor store for the purpose of expanding their inventory and modernizing the facility. The preliminary budget for renovations was set at just over $93,000. Ada Mayor Todd Sawrey says that includes moving the cooler, new flooring, exterior updates, signage, shelving, and even a possible wine room.
The Ada City Council received an update and cost estimate from Moore Engineering on adding water and sewer infrastructure to Park Street. Moore Engineering gave an estimate of $145,000 and said it could be completed by this winter depending on how the council chooses to pay for it. Mayor Sawrey says the council gave the thumbs to move forward.
Mayor Sawrey voiced his concern on blight issues across the city during Monday night’s meeting. He says he will be pushing for Administration and law enforcement to enforce violators.
The Ada City Council also approved purchasing a Stump Grinder for Public works, approved the sale of a lot in the Rage addition to Mark Klevgaard, and a 2:00am Liquor License for the Baseline Sports Bar.
Councilmember John Hintz will join the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program this Friday at 9am to further recap Monday night’s meeting.
The Ada City Council has a special meeting scheduled for Monday, August 13th to discuss City Administrator candidates and other items.
