Shelly, MN -- It may be a scorcher this weekend, but it’s nothing the Shelly Fire Department can’t handle when they host their 8th annual Shelly Days celebration this Saturday, August 11th. Events and activities include Bingo, tractor pull, street dance, bouncy house, and more, according to Jonathan Sorenson of the Shelly Fire Department.
A popular spot with the warm temps will be the beer garden, which will open at 11:30am on Saturday. The Shelly Fire Department may provide some water to help cool down kids as well if needed.
One of the most anticipated events on Saturday night will be the pork supper. Sorenson says the Shelly Fire Department will be preparing a pretty unique feast starting at 5pm until its gone.
There will also be a street dance on Saturday night featuring the music of Jacked Up from 8:30 until 12:30pm. During the street dance, they will be announcing the winners of their annual raffle. Up for grabs is a rifle, cash prizes, gas grill, redhawks tickets, golf passes, and several other unique items donated from local businesses. Raffle tickets are $5 and are available from fire department members. Sorenson says all the proceeds from the raffle and other activities go to support the Shelly Fire and Rescue.
Shelly Days is this Saturday, August 11th.
