Fertile, MN -- The Fertile City Council approved the final plans and specs for their 2019 water and sewer project at their regular council meeting held Monday night. The project as a whole is estimated to cost about 2.2 million dollars, but is just now going off for bids so that number may change. Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden highlights the project set to begin next Spring.
The bid opening is scheduled for their October 10th meeting. Of the 2.2 Million dollar project, roughly 1.6 million will be financed and the remaining $641,000 will come from grants.
Last month, the Fertile City Council did put their dasher board project out for bids to complete their new skating rink, but unfortunately there was no bidders, according to Liden.
Also at this week’s meeting, the Fertile City Council approved some personnel policy updates for the Fair Meadow Nursing Home.
The Fertile City Council also approved setting their preliminary levy at a 2.4% increase over last year.
