Naytahwaush, MN -- One local resort is celebrating a monumental milestone this weekend. Pinehurst Resort near Naytahwaush will celebrate 100 years of being a local destination and family getaway tradition. For the LaVoy family who has owned the resort for nearly 60 years, running the resort has been a family tradition in itself. Current owner Greg Lavoy talks about his family involvement with Pinehurst.
A lot has changed over the last 100 years at the resort. Lavoy says the business has had to constantly evolve and modernize to stay up with the times.
The one constant that hasn’t changed in the last century is the iconic round room, although it has been updated. Lavoy says he’s proud to have been able to use local contractors and businesses during the restoration and updating process at Pinehurst.
Pinehurst Resort welcomes you to come celebrate with them this weekend with live music and prizes. On Friday, Eric Reitan will be performing from 8 until midnight. Saturday will feature Whiskey Trail from 3-7pm and the Roosters from 9 until 1am. On Sunday, enjoy the Cathy Erickson Polka Band from noon until 3pm followed by Whiskey Trail again until 7pm. Also on Sunday at 2pm, they will be giving away a $1,000 Pinehurst Vacation package, but you must be present to win.
