31 year old Josh Guenther Wins Mahnomen County Sheriff Race

Mahnomen, MN -- There’s a new Sheriff in town in Mahnomen County. Josh Guenther defeated Jennifer Reimer on Tuesday night 1136 to 794 during the Midterm election and will take over for the soon to be retired Doug Krier. Guenther, who is just 31 years of age, is currently the Chief Deputy under Sheriff Krier and credits him for taking him under his wing and developing him into a leader in the community.

There were many other Sheriff’s races in the region. Jeremy Thornton defeated Tim Boe in Norman County, Todd Glander defeated Al Fowler in Becker County, Mark Empting defeated Scott Steffes in Clay County, and Jim Tadman will bthe new Sheriff in Polk County after beating out Randy Sondrol for Barb Erdmann’s position.
