Fisher, MN -- The Fisher School District will look to expand the minds of their students this week when it comes to technology, and more specifically coding, when they once again participate in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. Fisher High School Principal Catherine Steinmetz says they will have all grade levels participating in the Hour of Code this Thursday.
Steinmetz says whats most impressive about the Hour of Code is how well the youngest students are able to pick it up.
And keeping the STEM theme going this week, Principal Steinmetz says the Fisher School is hosting their first ever Science Fair this Friday.
