Flom, MN -- You have one day to catch the “big one,” but just make to bring the “big one” or “big ones” to Flom by 8pm Saturday night. The Wild Rice Conservation Club is hosting their annual Ice Fishing Derby this Saturday, February 9th. The weigh in this year has been moved to the County Road 38 Bar and Grill in Flom, but the body of water you fish and how you fish is completely up to you, according to Tim Tjon of the Wild Rice Conservation Club.
To add a little more excitement and hopefully draw in some more participants this year, Tjon says they jacked up the payouts for the largest fish this year and moved the weigh in time back so anglers have an opportunity to capitalize on the evening bite.
The cost to participate is $20 per person and you can register at weigh in. No frozen fish will be allowed. All fish must be caught that day. There will also be a meat raffle, games, chili, and other food available at County Road 38 Bar and Grill that evening. If you have questions, call Tim Tjon at 218-556-0669 or like “Wild Rice Conservation Club” on Facebook.
