St. Paul, MN -- Mahnomen City leaders spent the last few days at the state capitol to lobbying and testifying on behalf of the city. Administrator Mitch Berg and Mayor Duane Schouveiller were in St. Paul pushing for the support of multiple bills with a special emphasis on a $3.6 million bondinq request for water and sewer improvements. Administrator Berg talks about some of the legislative priorities for the city of Mahnomen and what he’s hoping to accomplish at the capitol.
The City of Mahnomen will be investing just over $12 million for the complete water and sewer project. Berg encourages Mahnomen residents to do their part and contact their local legislators so that they are not on the hook for covering the costs.
Representative Paul Marquart is sponsoring the House bill while Senator Paul Utke is sponsoring its companion bill in the Senate.
