Ada, MN -- The Ada and Borup Fire Departments responded to a vehicle fire north of Ada on Wednesday afternoon at 1:45pm. According to the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, a load of straw being hauled by a semi truck had ignited. When fire crews arrived, the front one-third of the load was on fire, but an area farmer was able to provide assistance with a loader tractor to remove the remaining straw bales from the trailer.  Ada Fire Chief Steve Petry believes both the truck and trailer will be a total loss. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this moment. No one was injured. The incident occurred 10 miles north of Ada on Highway 9.
