MN Vikings to Takeover Mahnomen and Waubun Communities

Mahnomen, MN -- The Vikings are taking over the town! But instead of pillaging, they’ll be rewarding! The Minnesota Vikings will be hosting a town takeover for the Mahnomen and Waubun communities this Friday and Saturday, a reward for being selected as the Minnesota Football Community of the Year this past fall. Minnesota Vikings players, coaches, and staff members will be in both towns for football clinics, autograph sessions, community meals, silent auction, and more.
Tina Starkey, one of the local event coordinators, says it all begins Friday in Waubun.
Some of the silent auction items include an autographed Adam Thielen helmet and other Vikings autographed memorabilia, preseason and regular season ticket packages, a Vikings-Packers VIP game experience, and many other items donated from the Vikings and local businesses.
On Saturday, the Vikings look to continue their takeover in Mahnomen, according to Starkey.
The Vikings will also present a check on Saturday evening of $10,000 to the Mahnomen-Waubun Thunderbird Football program.
Starkey adds that the Mahnomen-Waubun communities should be proud of themselves for making this happen and grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
We’ll have live updates from the Vikings Takeover on Friday on Gold 101.5 KRJM as part of our Mahnomen Community Days.
