Ada, MN -- The Missoula Children’s Theater and the Ada Summer Children’s Theater will be presenting two shows on Friday, August 9th of their production of The Snow Queen at the Ada-Borup High School Auditorium. Students of all grade levels have been rehearsing hard all week for these two, hour long performances. Shayla Rodgers and Casey Papus of the Missoula Children’s Theater joined the KRJB Kaleidoscope program on Thursday to preview the show. Despite the similarity in name, Papus notes that its quite different from the very popular film of Frozen.
There is roughly 60 kids in this year’s Ada Children’s Summer Theater cast, which features unique characters such as the Snow Queen, Gerda, the Gardner Woman, Bae the Reindeer, a Yeti, princes and princesses, and lots of hobgoblins, snow animals, robbers, and snow chickens. Rodgers and Papus talk about what its like to have such a large cast.
Getting 60 kids of all age levels and abilities to put together an hour long production in just 5 days is no easy task, but the Directors say the methods of the Missoula Children’s Theatre makes it possible.
You can catch The Snow Queen at either 2:30pm or 7pm on Friday, August 9th at the Ada-Borup High School Auditorium. The cost is just $3 for adults and $2 for students.
