Ada, MN -- Mariah Prussia, owner of MPX Fitness and professional boxer and MMA fighter, is hoping to use her knowledge and experience to empower other women through her Women’s Self Defense Program. One of which will be held this Sunday, October 13th at the Ada-Borup School and another to be hosted at the Waubun School on Saturday, November 2nd. The purpose of the program isn’t just to teach women to defend themselves by fighting, but also to be aware of their surroundings, according to Prussia.
Prussia, who is also a Norman County West alumni, says she enjoys being able to empower women and help them live a happier and healthier life through these self defense courses.
The course is available to women of all ages, but Prussia recommends parents use their best judgement depending on the maturity level of their daughter. The cost for this weekend’s course in Ada is $50 for one $90 for two. For the Waubun event, which is hosted through the Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Community Education, the cost is $60 for adults and only $10 for students in grades 7-12. To register, call 701-293-0002, visit www.mpxfargo.com, or contact the school. For both offerings, the course begins at 1pm and ends at 5pm.
