Hillsboro, ND -- The Hillsboro City Commission held their first meeting of the new year last Monday, January 6th. At the meeting the commission approved paying for an inspection of a couple of downtown properties. Hillsboro Commission President Terry Sando says the city would like to work with the owners to redevelop those properties into lots for future businesses.
The City of Hillsboro is also in need of some more storage room for their city trucks. President Sando says they will be looking into a possible expansion or constructing a new building.
The City Commission also has some discussion last week about the procedures and policies regarding use of the Armory for travelers caught in hazardous weather conditions.
And on January 17th, the commission and city officials will be meeting with representatives from the city of Cavalier, ND. Sando says they’ve been partnered with Cavalier to give each other some constructive criticism of their respective cities.
The Hillsboro City Commission meets next on Monday, January 20th.
