Fosston Tournament – Blackduck 64 vs. Clearbrook-Gonvick 69
Fosston Tournament – Win-E-Mac 44 at Fosston 48
Pelican Rapids 68 at Ada-Borup West 73
The Ada-borup West Cougars picked up a win in their season opener despite a second half rally from the Pelican Rapids Vikings. The Cougars built a 20-point margin in the opening minutes of the second half. Then Pelican Rapids would get some shots to fall and creep back into the game cutting the margin in half and eventually getting as close as three points. But that was as close as the Vikings could get with the Cougars making enough free throws down the stretch to keep the Vikings at bay. With the win the Cougars start their season 1-0 while Pelican Rapids evens their own record at 1-1.

Ada-Borup West Cougars:
31 rebounds, 31 fouls, 21 turnovers, 22/35 free throws
Preston Gwin - 22 points, 9/9 free throws
Verdis Barber - 14 points
Avery Okroi - 11 points

Pelican Rapids Vikings:
22 rebounds, 26 fouls, 14 turnovers, 22/37 free throws
Jayden Rutherford - 21 points
McHale Korf - 17 points
Timmy Guler - 14 points
Fertile-Beltrami 58 at NCE-UH (TV) 54
A game that started off with a bang and was back and forth the entire way, ended in a barn burner. The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons and the NCE/U-H Titans traded buckets the entire way on Tuesday night. The opening offensive possesion of the game was an alley-oop pass from the Titans Morgan Stueness to Broden Lien who finished it with a one handed dunk. Lien, who was an all conference player last year, was being double teamed the whole night whenever he touched the basketball. The Falcons matched the Titans energy with their scrappy play and held the largest lead of the game at 7 points. Late in the game, the Falcons had a 3 point lead and could finish the game with a stop and knock down free throws but Junior Point Guard Morgan Stueness buried a 3 to tie the game. The Falcons would then get a bucket from Everett Balstad to take the lead and got key defensive stops down the stretch and eventually won the game 58-54. Sophomore Everett Balstad lead all scorers with 18 points. Grant Wilson had 14 points for Fertile-Beltrami. As for the Titans, Broden Lien lead his squad with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Falcons improve to 2-0 on the year and will play Park Christian next Monday at Fertile. The Titans start their season 0-1 and will play the Barnesville Trojans tomorrow December the 6th.
New York Mills 70 at Mahnomen/Waubun (W) 77
The Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds got off to a great start and then had to hold off several New York Mills runs in order to get their season opening win 77-70.  The Thunderbirds jumped out to a quick 11-1 lead and would extend that lead to as many as 13 in the first half until the Eagles forced some turnovers off of their full court press and hit some 3s as well to cut that lead to 6 where it would be at the half 38-32.  In the 2nd half the Thunderbirds would again increase their lead to double digits before NYM would go on a run to cut the lead to 2 but that was as close as they would get as MW would make a run to increase their lead to as many as 16.  The Eagles had one more late run to cut the lead to single didgits but MW would hold on for the win and open the season at 1-0 as NYM drops to 1-1
